My daughter is 17 and has 2 children. I have been her provider and helped her with the 2 kids since the father left her and left the state. (We are currently going after him for support for their 2 children.
By the advisement of a judge (off the record) told me to emancipate her (for me to give up all financial and legal right to her) so she would be eligible for some programs run by the state. She will be 18 in October. I want to know since I had her emancipated and have had sole custody of her since 1986, is my ex-husband still obligated to pay child support to her?
