My ex-wife wants me to give up my legal custody rights of my son. My ex-wife filed for divorce in May/2001. I've been separated from my ex-wife and son for seven months and have been out of work for more than three months. I am considering going back to my country since I have no family and no place to stay if I don't find a job soon. An attorney friend of mine told me that I shouldn't give up legal custody, even if I move out of the country. What are the implications if I give up my legal custody rights?
