In order for jurisdiction to exist in Connecticut, one of the parties must testify at a dissolution hearing that the parties resided in CT for more than one year prior to the commencement of the action, or prior to the date of judgment, or both. If the other party does not dispute this fact, then the court will not generally examine it independently.
