I've been divorced for over 2 years. I am paying $96 a week for support of my (now) 9 year old son. We split all expenses. We have joint custody with no designation for primary residence.
I have been told by an attorney (family member)
that I should not be paying any support, based on the visitation arrangement. I have very limited funds. How do I determine how much, if any, child support I should be paying?
Visitation schedule:
I see my son as follows: Every Thursday night, overnight from 5 p.m. to Friday morning when he goes to school. Following an every other weekend schedule, my weekend is from Thursday at 5 p.m. until Monday morning when he goes to school. During the week following his mother's weekend, he is with me on Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
During summer break, our time with my son is split evenly.
I also have a 8 month old baby girl from my current marriage.
My ex-wife is remarried. No other biological children. Her husband has a joint custody arrangement for his two boys from his first marriage.
