My ex-husband and the father of my 2 children moved to minneapolis in August of 2000. He came back for christmas of the same year and hasn't been back since. He makes sporadic contact with my children and I haven't seen a child support check since October of last year. He is about $6000 behind in child support. I told him 6 months ago that if he didn't come back to connecticut that I would terminate his rights to the kids. Well, he isn't coming back and my kids are going to be devastated, they are only 5 and 8, when they find out that he isn't coming back. I have been doing this on my own for a long time and I am tired of watching my children be hurt by their selfish and self-absorbed father. How difficult is it to terminate parental rights since he is out of state?
